This one-day, nil experience required course will have you on your way to the most enjoyable sailing holiday imaginable. You will gain knowledge to safely and competently charter your own desired yacht by providing practice picking up moorings, planning your trip, advice on what to expect and what to pack and take. Upon completion you will obtain an Introduction to Sailing – Bareboat Charter Preparation Certificate which is recognized by all reputable charter operators so your briefing time on commencement of your charter is reduced and getting you out on the water sooner.
The course can be taken in one full-day sailing or as a weekend away with the yacht spending the night at anchor and enjoying the delights of some night sailing. The weekend course includes all meals and accommodation while on board; and the one-day course includes light snacks and drinks, but we ask you to bring your lunch. Upon Successful completion of the one-day course you will be issued with a Bareboat SCY certificate which is accepted at many of the major charter companies in Australia.
You Instructor can recommend any further reading or courses that may be useful to your development.
If you are planning a charter holiday in Australia or overseas then this course is a must. The knowledge you will gain will make your holiday more enjoyable and will reduce your briefing fees at the commencement of your charter holiday.
This course provides a short introduction to sail cruising for novices. By the end of the course you will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, ropework and be aware of safety on board.
