I took the 1 day introduction to sailing course and it was fantastic.

You get some basic learnings to mooring, anchoring and sailing under a yacht master. There is no need to have any experience.

If you are even a little interested, I highly recommend giving it a go.

Do this course!! My partner and I completed the Competent Crew 5 day course and what a valuable investment. The entire experience was very hands on, excellent training methods that kept us safe and confident to learn new things. We joined with pretty little experience and left feeling really inspired, our instructor Lain was fantastic and planned all lessons well. His teaching style made all of the difference for us. Keep us on our toes and constantly learning 😊

Perfect blend of adventure and skill training while taking in the natural beauty of the Whitsundays.

What a great adventure doing my Competent Crew course in the Whitsundays! As a near-total novice, I was amazed at how much I learned. Iain, our instructor, was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate—he went above and beyond to make sure every moment was a learning opportunity, all while keeping the trip fun and engaging.

The yacht was cozy and comfortable, with quality food and more than enough for the whole trip. I now feel confident enough to crew at my local sailing club, and I’m already researching my Day Skipper course with Southern Cross Yachting!

Highly recommended for anyone looking to build solid sailing foundations in an unforgettable setting.

Unforgettable 5-Day Sailing Adventure!

I recently completed the 5-day Day Skipper course with Southern Cross Yachting and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, making the learning process both enjoyable and informative.
